My favorite blogs

9 Apr

So my list of favorite blogs is constantly expanding and I thought I would take a minute to share my faves with you all. I know at least one of you will enjoy these blogs as much as I do, if not more.

Design Sponge is a daily read and I love all of their content. But my favorite posts are the before and afters. Always so inspiring.

Holly over at Decor8 has the most amazing sense of color and style. She is always introducing me to incredible designers, photographers and other talented folks on her blog. Thank you for being awesome Holly!

And last but not least: Young House Love is the blog of the ultimate diy power couple, John and Sherry Petersik. They transformed their home from blah to fab and share all of their knowledge and how-to tips with their readers. Another daily stop for lots of inspiration and design ideas and solutions. And they are expecting their first child so their nursery transformation has been tons of fun to watch.

I have so many other faves but that is all I will share for today. Mostly because I need to hop in the shower so I can be ready to meet the talented and super fun S. Bosse for drinks tonight on the patio at Schlafly. Leave me some of your favorite blogs in the comments so I can add to my list!!

An Update for Rachel

8 Apr

So this blog has been sadly neglected since October according to my darling friend Rachel. 😉 I honestly didn’t think anyone would miss me so I wasn’t worried about updating. But now that I know I have at least one loyal reader, I feel it is my duty to post a little something. Now the only question is, where do I begin?

Well alot has happened since my last post. I successfully opened a holiday pop up shop  called The Foundrie at Chesterfield Mall featuring work by local artists and indpendent designers. It was pretty much the hardest and longest 6 weeks of my life but totally worth it. I could not have pulled it off with out the help of my amazing family and dear friends so again, a big thank you to all of you.  There is a link to more pics over at but here is a basic before and after.

I took a nice long break during January and to be honest, most of February. I am finally back on track and have new acrylic and stainless steel jewelry in the shop at Also looking forward to upcoming shows this spring including Renegade Craft Fair Brooklyn June 5&6. Excited to share a booth with my sis and for our little ones to have a fun weekend playing together. Here are a few pics of Stella from the past couple of months. She is getting so big and says something incredibly funny about every 5 minutes. Last weekend our dog Ollie got into a nest of baby squirrels and Stella told me that Ollie had “ruined” them. Yes, he did indeed. Tragic and funny at the same time. Happy Spring!!

Hello Fall

6 Oct

Matt and I had the pleasure of taking Stella to the pumpkin farm last Friday with our Link Program through Ferguson-Florissant school district. Stella was most excited to see the animals and she was delighted at the cow, pig, llama, zebra, and the goats named Daisy Goat and Bubba Goat. She is still talking about them as well as her human friends Annabelle and Estella who joined us on a wagon ride around the muddy fields and farms. Fun times were had by all. Note to mommy: Before next field trip, read handout and bring items listed. All of the other children had their flashlights to go throught the hay mazes and tunnels and my darling Stella had not brought her little Hello Kitty Lantern on the expedition. Mommy gets an F for the day. Oops.

And because this blog pretty much hates me, here is a “gallery” of the other pics I wanted to share. Some pics of my studio/office as well as a photo of my felt taxidermy bunny I stitched up while watching tivo’d episodes of Melrose Place and Gossip Girl tonight. Don’t judge me. I was only allowed to watch Nick at Nite growing up. I am making up for lost time. I was the only girl in high school during the 1990’s to have a crush on Dobie Gillis. I have shared too much for one night. More later.

Strangefolk Festival

1 Oct

photo3Had a super fun time at Strangefolk Festival over in Illinois this past weekend. My neighbors Robin from The Fancy Lamb and Beqi from Beqi Clothing are the best. We had a great turnout and I want to send a big thank you to all of our lovely customers and fellow vendors. I made a couple trades and got some amazing little goodies from some of the other talented vendors in our pavillion.  And of course the biggest thanks to Autumn for working so freaking hard and for putting on such an amazing event. We love Strangefolk!!

And the always fun and adorable Courtney from Twisted and I had on our matching all weather boots from Target and I had to get a pic. Yes, I am a super big dork. Thanks for putting up with me Courtney. 😉

A few things…

22 Sep

I have been thinking long and hard (insert Michael Scott “that’s what she said” joke here) about my next tattoo and I finally figured it out. This is a still from a cartoon the Kangaroo Alliance did for a Yo Gabba Gabba song called “Be Nice to Animals.” If you havent seen it I highly suggest you check it out here: It makes me squeal with delight everytime I see it and I just adore all of the art and darling animals. I think I will start with the bear and little girl and I may end up with the whole menagerie when it is all said and done. Ps. Stella thinks it is an awesome idea as this is one of her “favorite songs”. Just ask her, she will tell you all about it.

And a few snaps from our mini vacation last month to the Lake of the Ozarks. We had a really fun and relaxing time at Big Bear Resorts and took full advantage of being one of the few guests in town the week before labor day. We pretty much had the entire resort to ourselves and Stella had tons of fun on the playground, chasing the resident kitty cats, and feeding the ducks all of our bread. Our first “official” family vacation. So for next year I am thinking possibly an Alaskan Cruise. I better start planning now or we will end up last minute at the lake again. Not that it’s a bad thing, of course. We would love to have more time to relax and unwind. Maybe we can do both?

Renegade Chicago 2009

Had a super fun and super successful weekend in Chicago for Renegade Craft Fair 2009! The weather was fantastic as was the company ( my sis, of course) and the turnout was just amazing. A big thank you to Roy and Shar for stopping by and fetching the PBR and an even bigger thank you to Daphne and Sarah B. for letting us crash at your lovely apartments and for being generally awesome. Daphne makes this incredible yogurt called Better Whey of Life which is probably available at your local Whole Foods. And she is such a sweetheart, you must check it out

Sadly I chained myself to my table inside my booth all weekend at Renegade so I wouldnt be tempted to spend tons of $ on all of the incredible wares and my photos reflect my self-imposed imprisonment. I only have a few shots of our booth. I didnt even manage to get pics of friends or any of the fun from German Fest on Friday night. I am lame when it comes to remembering my camera. In fact it didnt find its way out of my bag until Sunday afternoon. But theres always Strange Folk Festival coming up and I promise I will photo document the entire event. Pinky swear. 😉

My baby is 2 years old.

Well it seems I cannot manage to update this blog more than once every couple months but I must share some pics from Stella’s gnome themed 2nd birthday party. I used the Tiniest Garden Kit from the to create decorations including cupcake toppers and tiny terrariums. We also made felt gnome hats and beards but the 2 year olds didn’t seem as interested in wearing them as the adults did. The party was a fantastic success and so much fun! Thanks to all who came and for A Print A Day for such adorable and affordable party decor!
